I’m a lucky person: I’ve been passionate
about all of my varied careers.

First,
After dropping out of Stanford, I went to the Culinary Institute of America in 1970 the first year they admitted women, after which I began a career baking desserts in Boston because I love eating desserts!

Second,

When desiring to use my brain differently, I combined my need to help others with my analytical ability as career counselor at the University of Texas .

Third,

My true love—an owner/operator of a homemade ice cream shop called The Inside Scoop, Inc. here in Chapel Hill . My ex-staff (they insist they are no longer my staff but my friends) and ice cream are still a part of my life, hence my slogan: Get the Inside Scoop on Real Estate.
My store was “Not Your Ordinary Scoop Shop” because going for ice cream was not just about eating ice cream—it was the whole experience with fun house mirrors, a photo booth, staff who threw ice cream in the air, and creamy, rich flavorful ice cream that satisfied.

Fourth
,
My latest passion, (ok, there was the truck) each day as a realtor opens up new possibilities.   I am “Not Your Ordinary Realtor” in so many ways: please help me to understand your personal life style, your specific tastes and preferences, and your appreciation for the potential in all kinds of houses.

Finding the right house for you, or finding the buyer who will appreciate the house you loved is important to me.
You are "Not Your Ordinary Buyer or Seller".

Other activities that make me feel good:  laughing, contra dancing, socializing, gardening, connecting people (matchmaking, jobs, interests--fairly successful, so try me out), entertaining, traveling, spending time with my family--my adult kids make me laugh, watching HBO (gotta admit it), shopping on Ebay, and feeding people.

Did you know that I sold my entire kitchen on Ebay?  Reused the cabinets for someone else, saved us the cost of demolition.

To be a well put together woman, I own 5 pairs of funky, unusual tri-focal eyeglasses, plus sunglasses. These are my face Jewelery and so much fun.

Whenever I walk, if I see someone wearing something beautiful or interesting, I like to compliment them.  Complimenting people makes them feel good and makes us both smile.

The following is a link to a story about my house that was in the Raleigh News & Observer.  I hope you'll read and enjoy it.
This was a plain red truck without an engine that I brought into my yard and made into a garden, planted a fig tree, hydrangea and liriope.  I painted it with Nelly (the woman in white, a former employee, now a friend) using bright colors to provide something cheery in the winter.  It was later donated to the ArtsCenter for an auction.
